Looking Inward & Outward (with the goggle of Faith) – Part 82

Dearly Beloved,

The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh various inspired thoughts, on another blessed day.

Continuation from yesterday’s. ..

  1. We are being unrealistic in our expectation(s), when we expect believers who aren’t at peace with themselves or those who are unserious or passive about the faith and love commandments – that always accompany every true ministration of the New Testament – to live at peace with us or with others. There is a peace that surpasses all human understanding; that causes known and unknown wars within to cease; and we can only partake of this peace as we seek, fetch and keep the commandments that usually accompany the true ministration of Christ and Him crucified (Ps. 46:9, 1Cor. 2.1-2).
  2. The faithful day that 3,000 believers believed in the early Church, 3000 carnally minded, spiritually unwise, fleshly-confident believers whose souls weren’t at peace with God (yet ordained to inherit God life) only believed but never knew whom they had believed in (Acts 13:48, 2Tim. 1:12c, Jn. 8:31-32). They were added to the Church (Acts 2:47) because heaven has instituted the Church, however weak she looks, as the only ground in the Spirit where truth should/would be gracefully taught, until men are baptised (immersed or strengthened) with the name/essence/nature of the Spirit, Son and Father; and thereby, inherit eternal life (1Tim. 3:15, Matt. 28:18).
  3. There are sufferings that are supervised by the Holy Spirit; that come against our carnal nature; which God has ordained for every New Testament believer that would ever cease from sin and inherit God’s life (1Pet. 4:1). Heaven approves of such experiences when a believer needs to be helped from his carnal status and given the new status of a new man called Christ. At such seasons, believers would not get what they want, when and how they want such things, because the Lord is busy behind the scene, teaching us to put away childish ways of thinking, understanding and speaking; so we can acquire an age in the Spirit called Christ, whom we need to relate with God (1Cor. 13:11, Tit. 2:12-13, Heb. 5:14).

Blessings!

Looking Inward & Outward (with the goggle of Faith) – Part 82

Dearly Beloved,

The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh various inspired thoughts, on another blessed day.

  1. The way and economy of a believer is, in reality, actually different from that of a carnal believer or of an unbeliever (1Cor. 2:14-16, 2Cor. 6:14-15). We can start up by sharing a lot in common with them, which in such seasons makes us carnal believers, but by learning and living by the power of God (Christ), we should journey to a place where we share nothing in common (their way/manner of relating on earth) with them; even as we become born by the Spirit (2Cor. 6:14-18, Jn. 3:6, Rev. 14:3d-4). The Church was instituted to stop carnality; but, unfortunately, has been fostering it. However, that order is changing. The Church (the souls of many believers) would soon be emptied of the world.
  2. The Lord Jesus actually expects every believer that isn’t ashamed of the gospel to go about walking in the obedience of the faith; in a way/manner that carries the epistle spirit: that affects the Church and inspires almost every carnal believer (that have crossed their paths) to get out of their disobedience. (2Cor. 7:8-11, Heb. 10:24). So, the indifference of a believer who has been exposed to the faith resident in Christ, comes at a cost/negative impact to himself and to others. It makes the Christian faith look like other religions because that indifference is a sign that our faith lacks power (1Cor. 1:18/2:5/4:20, 2Tim. 1:8).

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1 Peter 5:10

Today, I want to touch a very delicate area. I know a whole lot of questions would have arose in the hearts of many of us in the course of these teachings. There may be some grey areas as well as confusion.
Perhaps there is someone asking these questions;

How do I really live by faith?

How do I stand for righteousness in this world ?

Some others may be asking how they will combine the spiritual and secular. Some are wondering how they will sort out their lives in the physical while trying to pursue eternal life.
Brethren, I have good news for all these categories of people.

According to our text, the Lord who has called us unto eternal glory which is eternal life, will sort out all that concerns you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. There may be a lot of rocky situations in the home front, in your academics, or in your career and yet you want to pursue eternal life.

There is no need to be worried or agitated. Remember Apostle Paul said we should be careful for nothing but make all our request known unto God (Phil 4:6). Let us just rely solely on the grace of God.

Our text says He will make us perfect. There is a reason why perfection was mentioned first and it is because God wants us to concentrate on this path of righteousness unto eternal life. Then in the process of perfection, strength will come to endure the sufferings that comes with this path, and then He will settle us and this is mostly as regards all that concerns us in the physical and in the spiritual

Finally, brethrean, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:8

Beloved, we will be looking at purity of heart today. Purity in itself is very essential in our Christian living. It is what draws us closer and closer to God. God can not resist a pure soul rather, He will embrace him and reveal more of Himself to such a soul and then live His life through him.

Many of us may wonder why it seems like we are far from God and we often complain that we can not hear God. This is becaue we have refused to surrender our hearts for purging. We confess one thing with our mouths while the depths of our hearts are filled with all manner of abominable things.

The nature of sin and death has eaten so deep into the soul that the soul has become blind to see the darkness it carries.

This is why many of us are comfortable with sin because we do not even know most of our actions are sinful. Now, I’m not only talking of the obvious sins that people can see, I’m also speaking of those very dangerous sins of the heart. Brethren, we need to really take heed. Some still covet what is not theirs, some are highly unforgiving, some are so unreliable, some are really stingy, some are so full of themselves and look down on those ‘below’ their class. I can go on and on but the question is; Do we really think that God who is Holy and full of light and purity will want to have a close and intimate relationship with someone who is so impure and full of darkness?. It is true that God loves us all and wants us to come to Him the way we are but the truth of the matter is that He wants us to be changed.

He wants to take away that evil nature of the devil from us. That is why we must ensure that we are being purged.
How then can we be changed?

Our text says that we should think on whatsoever things are just, honest, pure and of good report. Therefore guys, we need to really cry for grace to willingly yield to the leading and dealing of the Holy Spirit for our ultimate change through the revelation of Jesus Christ. This is when we can say we are turning unto eternal life.
